Telecom Fiji Limited proudly demonstrated its commitment to the community today by contributing $15,000 to the Fiji Cancer Society (FCS) during a heartfelt Pinktober Morning Tea and Cheque Handover event held at the Telecom Labasa Exchange.
The event brought together Telecom Fiji staff and representatives from FCS, including cancer survivor Sereima Lalibuli, CEO Belinda Chan, and oncology nurse Litia Vueti, who shared their powerful messages about the importance of early detection and the strength found in community support. Their stories deeply inspired the team, reinforcing the power of awareness and timely action in the fight against cancer.
Telecom Fiji staff also pledged their personal support by donating and fundraising towards this cause. The Fiji Cancer Society expressed sincere gratitude for the generous contribution and the continued partnership with Telecom Fiji in driving cancer awareness across the country.
Telecom CEO Charles Goundar extended his appreciation to the Fiji Cancer Society for its tireless work in promoting cancer awareness and early detection, encouraging staff to carry this message to their families and communities. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote wellness and ensure that no one faces the battle against cancer alone.
Speaking at the event, Telecom Manager Field Services North, Aporosa Vualiku, said:
“We are proud to see our staff actively turning awareness into action through their invaluable pledges and efforts. Telecom’s generosity and dedication to the Fiji Cancer Society highlight our belief in the importance of community support and our commitment to positively impacting the lives of those affected by cancer.”
Our support doesn’t stop at Pinktober — it continues with the upcoming Golf Tournament hosted and organized by the Fiji Cancer Society, which Telecom supports annually in support of men’s health and community wellbeing during Movember.
